President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, during an official visit to Anambra State on Thursday, May 8, 2025, described Governor Chukwuma Soludo as a “visionary and competent leader,” commending his impressive infrastructural development and governance efforts.
Tinubu, who arrived at the Chinua Achebe International Airport, Umueri, was warmly received by Governor Soludo, top state officials, and military personnel. Dressed in traditional Akwete fabric and a red cap, the president proceeded to Awka where he commissioned several major projects, including the new State Government House, the Emeka Anyaoku Center at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, the newly constructed Governor’s Lodge, Solution Fun City, and the 8-lane Aroma–Government House Boulevard.
Speaking at one of the ceremonies, Tinubu said, “I commend my friend, Governor Chukwuma Soludo, who is a visionary and competent leader, for the work he has been doing in Anambra State.”
In anticipation of the visit, the state government had called for a neutral, nonpartisan atmosphere. Dr. Alex Obiogbolu, political adviser to the governor, instructed attendees not to wear political uniforms, emphasizing that the event was a state function, not a party rally.
The visit also featured a high-level town hall meeting at the refurbished Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square, underscoring the importance of federal-state collaboration in regional development.
