At least three individuals were hospitalized following the explosion of an undetonated Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Ngomari Community, Buni Yadi, located in the Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State. The incident occurred on Saturday when a 22-year-old man discovered live ammunition while gathering firewood.
According to reports, the young man, driven by curiosity, attempted to open the ammunition with a hammer, leading to the explosion that injured him and two others. The victims have been taken to the Yobe State Specialist Hospital in Buni Yadi for urgent medical care.
The Secretary of the Local Metal Fabricators Association, Malam Isyaku Dahiru, confirmed the incident.
