Aliyu Audu has officially resigned from his position as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs. In a letter dated June 8, 2025, addressed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu through the Chief of Staff, Audu announced that his resignation takes immediate effect.

In his letter, Audu expressed deep gratitude to the president for the opportunity to serve in his administration, describing the experience as both an honor and a privilege. He wrote, “I remain deeply grateful to you, Mr. President, for the opportunity to serve my fatherland under your visionary leadership. It has been an honor to contribute to the public communication efforts of this administration.”

Audu acknowledged Mr. Ajuri Ngelale, the former Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, for nominating him for the role, despite their brief prior acquaintance. He was appointed to the position on October 9, 2023, after being nominated on August 26, 2023.

While Audu did not specify the reasons for his resignation, he assured the president of his continued prayers for the success of the administration and the progress of the nation.
