Dele Momodu, a two-term presidential aspirant and prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has stated that a coalition of political parties is essential to unseat President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections. He made this assertion during a recent appearance on the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State’s monthly program, “Guest of the Month,” in Ibadan.

Momodu expressed his disillusionment with the PDP, stating that while his body remains in the party, his spirit has already left. He emphasized that if the PDP were united, it would have the potential to challenge the APC effectively. However, he noted that internal divisions within the PDP hinder its strength, with some members allegedly working against the party’s stability.

He criticized the APC’s strategy to weaken the PDP by fostering factionalism, asserting that a disunited opposition cannot successfully challenge the ruling party. Momodu highlighted the need for a formidable coalition and a strategic candidate to stand a chance against Tinubu in 2027.

Furthermore, he pointed out that any effective contender must come from a different region of Nigeria to enhance their appeal. His remarks underline the significant challenges facing the opposition as they prepare for the upcoming elections.
