Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has declared that the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) faces no real opposition in the upcoming November 8 governorship election. Speaking at a Thanksgiving Service organized by the Soludo Support Group and allied organisations in Onitsha, the governor asserted that opposition parties lack meaningful support and rely solely on claims of connection to the federal government.

Soludo emphasized that despite this advantage, APGA would not be complacent and would campaign rigorously as though faced with strong contenders. He dismissed opposition rhetoric as superficial, asking, “What will they be telling you other than saying: ‘We are at the center’?” He pointed out that his administration has already laid a solid developmental foundation, rendering opposition promises redundant.

He mocked the opposition’s reliance on federal ties, joking, “Are we in Central School?” and urged Anambra residents to beware of politicians who make grand promises only to later complain about “empty treasuries” once elected.

Highlighting his administration’s achievements in healthcare, infrastructure, education, and security, Soludo announced that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will visit Anambra State on Thursday to commission several completed projects. These include the new Government House and Lodge, Awka Fun City, and the Ekwulobia Flyover Bridge.

Commending Soludo’s leadership, Onitsha South Local Government Chairman Hon. Emeka Orji pledged total support for APGA in the upcoming election. He also revealed efforts to enhance local safety by procuring firefighting equipment for the area’s major markets, including Ochanja and Bridgehead.
