House of Representatives member Wole Oke has called on Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke to cease what he describes as attempts to blackmail President Bola Tinubu regarding the ongoing local government crisis in the state. Oke criticized Adeleke for not acting on a February 10, 2025, court judgment that reinstated elected officials from the APC.
In a letter addressed to the governor, Oke expressed disappointment over Adeleke’s inaction, stating that the opportunity to appeal the judgment has now lapsed. He urged the governor to acknowledge his shortcomings and collaborate with the reinstated council officials.
Oke proposed that Adeleke direct local government civil servants to work with the APC-elected officials until their term ends, and recommended that a fresh election be scheduled within 180 days to elect new local government officials.
He emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation among all citizens of Osun State, regardless of political affiliation.
