The Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Abuja has dismissed claims of negligence following the death of singer Ifunanya ‘Nanyah’ Nwangene from a snakebite. The hospital stated that medical staff provided immediate care, including resuscitation, intravenous fluids, oxygen, and polyvalent anti-venom.
FMC explained that Nwangene had developed severe neurotoxic complications before she could be admitted to the ICU, and despite all life-saving measures, she could not be revived.
The management called allegations of non-availability of anti-venom and inadequate treatment “unfounded.”
