The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has come out in firm defense of Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, following allegations by APC governorship aspirant Valentine Ozigbo, who claimed the governor was covertly supporting the APC candidate, Nicholas Ukachukwu, to weaken the party.
Ozigbo, who emerged second in the APC primary, alleged during a television interview that Governor Soludo was the unseen hand behind his defeat. But in a sharply worded rebuttal on Sunday, APGA described the claim as a “comic fabrication,” unworthy of the attention of a man of Soludo’s stature and calibre.
Chinedu Obigwe, National Coordinator of APGA’s Media Warriors Forum, dismissed Ozigbo’s assertions as the product of political frustration, asserting that Governor Soludo is far too accomplished, visionary, and focused on governance to indulge in political distractions.
“Prof. Chukwuma Soludo is not only a governor but a globally renowned intellectual, a reformer par excellence, and one of Africa’s most accomplished economists,” Obigwe said. “To suggest that a man of such global pedigree would concern himself with the trivial schemes of a fractured opposition is both laughable and insulting.”
Obigwe emphasized that Governor Soludo has elevated governance in Anambra to new heights, introducing sweeping reforms, driving massive infrastructure projects, transforming education and healthcare, and setting an unmatched standard for leadership in Nigeria.
“He is a beacon of purposeful leadership not just in Anambra, but in the entire Southeast and beyond. His tenure is marked by vision, innovation, and action. Soludo is building not just roads and schools, but a legacy of excellence,” Obigwe continued.
The APGA spokesman noted that the APC is virtually non-existent in Anambra, and thus irrelevant to Soludo’s administration. He recalled how even APC’s state leadership had admitted during the Buhari era that they had no serious political footing in the state.
“Governor Soludo does not waste his time on non-issues. He is a lion focused on his mission, and that mission is to make Anambra a model state in Nigeria,” he said. “His eyes are on history and legacy, not the petty theatrics of those still finding their political feet.”
Describing Soludo as “a leader molded by merit, driven by vision, and propelled by results,” Obigwe said that no amount of baseless accusation can diminish the governor’s towering achievements and the overwhelming support he enjoys from Ndi Anambra.
“He is a gift to our generation an embodiment of intellect, humility, and purpose. Soludo leads with both heart and mind, and history will remember him as one of the greatest leaders this state and country have ever produced.”
Obigwe concluded by urging Ndi Anambra to continue rallying around Governor Soludo as he delivers on his transformative agenda, undistracted by political noise.
