The Young Progressives Party (YPP) has firmly dismissed statements made by Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo, claiming that the party had collapsed its structures to support the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the upcoming governorship election. The Independent National Electoral Commission has scheduled the 2025 Anambra Governorship election for November 8.

In a statement from Abuja, YPP National Publicity Secretary Mr. Egbeola Martins called Soludo’s assertion false, stating, “At no time did the YPP leadership discuss or ratify the idea of collapsing the party’s structures into APGA.” He emphasized that the YPP remains a significant political force in Nigeria, ranked among the top six parties nationally and among the top three in Anambra.

Martins rejected any notions of supporting the continuation of APGA’s governance, affirming that the YPP is determined to present a credible candidate in the upcoming election. He urged the people of Anambra to disregard Soludo’s claims and to focus on the critical issues that will shape the state’s future.
