The Bauchi State Government has approved a 100% salary increase for doctors and healthcare workers in the state. This decision followed a review of the existing scheme of service for healthcare workers. The aim is to retain skilled medical personnel and improve healthcare delivery throughout the state.
The approved package includes allowances for postings outside of metropolitan areas. Healthcare workers under the State Primary Healthcare Development Board will also benefit from these allowances. The government has also approved the clearance of outstanding promotions for healthcare workers, potentially benefiting around 2,000 individuals.
Access to car and housing loans has also been approved to ease financial burdens. To ensure accountability, biometric and verification systems will be introduced across health facilities.
