On Thursday, 26th of February, 2026, the Independent National Election Commission ( INEC) rolled out the official timetable for the 2027 elections, thereby formally declaring open, the race for various elective offices across Nigeria.
With this momentous development, various groups and individuals are expected to firmly pitch their tents in exercise of their democratic franchise to endorse or support their preferred candidates for various elective offices.
As for me, in the interest of truth, justice and progress and without any hesitation nor ambiguity, I wish to hereby categorically and unequivocally state as follows as it concerns my choice of candidate for the ABIA NORTH SENATORIAL DISTRICT:
1. His Excellency, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, a perfect illustration of effective representation, is my PREFFERED CANDIDATE for re-election as SENATOR, come 2027.
Like him or hate him, his sojourn in the Senate so far has benefitted our people of Abia North far more than the combined tenures of ALL his predecessors put together.
Therefore, anyone desirous of dislodging him through the ballot must desist from the delusional orchestration of false narratives, campaign of calumny and instigation of violence.
2. I do not make political choices based on sentiments. I make sure that my decision in each season is determined by clarity, reality and objectivity. In Umunneochi, my own Local Government, for example, OUK has delivered several strategic roads, built numerous schools, supplied equipment and above all EMPOWERED SEVERAL OF OUR KNOWN ILLUSTRIOUS SONS AND DAUGHTERS AS FEDERAL CONTRACTORS.The multiplier effect of his grassroot-oriented approach is changing lives in every ward and community.
Before now, we used to have stingy , vainglorious and ramboustous senators some of whom shamelessly shared frying pans to hapless villagers while cruising comfortably in Abuja and across the globe with their mandate. We also have had those who wasted our years massaging their over -inflated egos while pretending to be speaking for Ndi Igbo at the Senate. These misguided former senators wasted our years without caring nor bothering about our sensibilities. With OUK, we now have OUR OWN SENATOR, whose thorough knowledge of the terrain has led to lights in our villages, water supply and several scholarships for our children.
3. By 2027, Abia North Senatorial District will not need the motley crowd of desperate men still auditioning for leadership that I am seeing in the horizon. We need EXPERIENCE, not EXPERIMENT. Someone who knows the pathways of power and is willing to explore it for the benefits of his people. Sadly, most of of the men I’m seeing are still trying to wriggle out of their many personal contradictions wheras OUK, in his best form, is already blossoming and blasting on all cylinders.
4. When you take away their sponsored blackmail and subterfuge, you will notice that the noises being made by those aspiring to dethrone OUK are not motivated by anything altruistic. They are all from a bunch of envious, contemptuous starters, trying to feather their own nest at the expense of Ndi Abia North.
5. By inducing and transporting few women to Umuahia, to chant funeral songs with despicable lyrics by those purporting to aspire to the Senate from Abia North, they have unwittingly disqualified themselves.
6. Oblivious of the fact that an elected senator is a veritable embodiment of our essence and symbol of our pride, these senseless men having resorted to sinister strategies to the extent of sponsoring innocent youths and women to carry out these sacrilegious shows of shame in Ohafia and Umuahia cannot be trusted to handle the people’s mandate.
7. Working in cohorts with KNOWN accolytes and officials of government in Umuahia, they have relentlessly waged a war of disinformation against OUK, the People’s Senator, making false allegations in a bid to impose themselves on the Abia North voting population.These irredeemable and irresponsible political gimmicks being made in a bid to attract cheap attention and mislead the public are not necessary. The question is, are the people angling to oust Senator Orji Uzor Kalu from the Senate better than him? We all know that the answer is NO.
8. Most of them are unserious people who have no business with the serious duties of a senator.
I, therefore, urge ALL the good people of Abia North, in our own enlightened best interest, to protect and sustain our mandate by unanimously working round the clock for the re- election of His Excellency, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.
