Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (Rtd), the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, has made his first major appointment following his designation by President Bola Tinubu amid the state’s emergency rule. In a statement released on Tuesday in Port Harcourt, Ibas announced the appointment of Professor Ibibia Lucky Worika as the new Secretary to the Rivers State Government (SSG).

In a related development, Ibas announced the resignation of the state’s Head of Service, Dr. George Nweke, expressing regret over his departure and recognizing his contributions during his tenure. Ibas appointed Dr. Mrs. Iyingi Brown, the Permanent Secretary for Welfare in the Office of the Head of Service, as the acting Head of Service.
