Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has urged his loyalists to embrace the recent reconciliation agreement with his predecessor, Nyesom Wike. During a meeting in Port Harcourt, Fubara acknowledged that while the reconciliation is emotionally challenging, it is essential for the state’s stability and development.

Fubara recounted a meeting with President Bola Tinubu, who emphasized the importance of resolving differences between him and Wike. He recognized Wike’s significant role in his political journey and called on his supporters to prioritize peace over past grievances.

He stated, “Nobody can take away the role my oga played… If today a need for us to settle, please, anyone who genuinely believes in me should understand that it’s the right thing to do.” Fubara expressed a commitment to not abandon his supporters, emphasizing that genuine peace is crucial for the state’s progress.

Highlighting the need for unity, Fubara encouraged patience and understanding during this transitional period. He noted that without reconciliation, meaningful federal intervention would be impossible, and many ongoing projects have suffered due to political disagreements.

The governor concluded by stressing that true peace is a collective effort, urging his followers to accept the reconciliation for the greater good of Rivers State.
