The Igbo apex social-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, has announced its 2025 Constitution Review Committee. The committee consists of 18 members, chaired by Anthony Idigbe (SAN), alongside notable figures such as Professor Chinwe Obaji, Professor Fabian Onah, Professor Nnamani Ogbu, Gloria Okudo AIG (retd), and Hery Akunebu (SAN). Other members include Dili Biosah, Anozie Obi Mni, Ray Nkemdirim, and several others.
At the inauguration, Ohanaeze Ndigbo President General, Senator Azuta Mbata, emphasized the necessity of a robust constitution for effective administration. He stated the importance of enhancing transparency, credibility, trust, strong grassroots membership participation, unity, and the general well-being of Ndigbo, irrespective of their location. He urged the committee to prioritize the common good of the Igbo nation.
The committee has one month to submit an interim report, which will be formally presented to the Imeobi. Chairman Idigbe expressed gratitude for the opportunity and pledged to deliver a constitution that meets the needs of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.
