Evangelist Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) flagbearer for the upcoming Anambra State governorship election slated for November 8, 2025.

Ukachukwu secured a landslide victory in the APC primary held in the early hours of Sunday, April 6, 2025, with a total of 1,455 votes. His closest rival, Valentine Ozigbo, garnered 67 votes, while Johnbosco Onunkwo and Edozie Madu polled 26 and 8 votes respectively. Twenty-six votes were declared invalid.

The results were announced by the Chairman of the APC Electoral Committee and Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, at about 4:56 a.m.

In his acceptance speech, Prince Ukachukwu lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for ensuring a transparent and peaceful primary election. He also expressed appreciation to the APC National Working Committee, the electoral committee, his co-contenders, and delegates for their support.

“I have been instrumental to the emergence of successive governors in Anambra over the years. I have played the role of a godfather, but now, I am ready to father myself,” Ukachukwu stated.

He called on his fellow aspirants to close ranks and support the party’s quest to wrest power from the incumbent, Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

Ukachukwu pledged not to betray the confidence reposed in him, promising a robust and issue-based campaign ahead of the November polls.
