Former Abia State governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, has called for the execution and continuity of transgenerational projects across Africa, especially within the ECOWAS region, as a path to sustainable development.
Speaking at a keynote lecture in Abuja, themed “Showcasing Africa’s Developmental Capacities in the Current Multi-polar Realities,” Ikpeazu said only long-term projects with clear vision can truly transform the continent.
“We must find ways to sustain good ideas that benefit the masses. Projects like regional railways can’t be completed within a single tenure, but they must not be abandoned—they are funded with taxpayers’ money,” he stated.
Ikpeazu emphasised that leaders must think beyond their time in office and invest in legacies that uplift future generations.
