Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has ordered the reopening of Onitsha Main Market for full commercial activities today, February 2, ending the longstanding Monday sit-at-home enforced by the proscribed IPOB group.
The market had been temporarily closed after traders defied previous directives to ignore the sit-at-home order. The government assured adequate security for residents and urged civil servants, teachers, and parents to resume normal routines. Non-compliance with the directive could result in harsher measures, the statement added.
