Governor Hyacinth Alia has praised President Bola Tinubu for ordering the arrest of armed herders and bandits terrorizing communities in Benue State. In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Alia expressed gratitude for the President’s support during these challenging times, emphasizing that it has provided hope and strength to the people.
Alia acknowledged Tinubu’s commitment to addressing security challenges and his directive to the Chief of Defence Staff and the Inspector General of Police to take decisive action against threats posed by armed groups. He stated that this commitment reassures residents about their safety and the return of farmers to their lands.
The governor also thanked his colleagues, especially those in the Progressive Governors’ Forum, for their solidarity and collective efforts to combat violence. He assured the people of Benue that he would continue collaborating with all stakeholders to restore peace and rebuild the state.
