The Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, has described the end of Ramadan as a time for reflection on the values of sacrifice, tolerance, and love that Eid-el-Fitr represents.
In his felicitation message to Muslim faithful in Bayelsa and across Nigeria, Governor Diri emphasized that fasting, as one of the key pillars of Islam, instills self-discipline and tolerance in adherents of the faith.
He urged Muslims to remain steadfast in their prayers for the peace, progress, and prosperity of both Bayelsa State and the nation.
The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to fostering love, harmony, and religious tolerance, irrespective of faith or ethnicity.
“We are committed to promoting peaceful coexistence among adherents of different religions to build a prosperous state where everyone can achieve their dreams,” he stated.
Governor Diri wished all Muslims a joyous Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
