The Edo State government has approved the dissolution of all commissions within the state public service. This decision was announced on Tuesday by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ikhilor, who urged all chairpersons and members of the commissions to hand over government properties in their possession to the most senior public officer in their respective commissions.
The official statement noted, “It is hereby announced for the information of the general public that the Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the dissolution of all commissions in the Edo State Government Public Service with immediate effect.”
The dissolved commissions include the Edo State Independent Electoral Commission, the Civil Service Commission, the Edo State Oil and Gas Producing Areas Development Commission, the Edo State Forestry Commission, the House of Assembly Service Commission, the State Audit Service Commission, and the Judicial Service Commission.
As part of the transition, all chairpersons and members of the commissions are advised to ensure a smooth handover of government properties.
