Abdulateef Ishowo, the former Director of Media and Communications for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign in Kwara State, has announced his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ishowo stated that he made the decision to support the ruling APC due to its progressive leadership style and political ideologies that align with youth development programs. He expressed:
“There is time for everything. It is time to move and align with a progressive-minded party that I believe will elevate Kwara to the next level. The APC has robust programs for the youth, especially those in Kwara.”
He also highlighted his belief that good governance would continue into the 2027 elections, reinforcing his commitment to the party.
Ishowo’s defection comes at a critical time when PDP’s leader in Kwara State, former Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki, is working to reorganize the party.
This move could significantly impact the political landscape in Kwara, especially as PDP faces challenges in re-establishing itself. Ishowo’s alignment with APC may attract other party members seeking fresh opportunities in the political arena.
