Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has said that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rotimi Amaechi have failed Nigeria in the past. He made the remarks during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday.
Okpebholo argued that Tinubu has achieved “landmark” developments in the country. According to him, the President’s work and policies are already convincing enough that he is set to win the 2027 election.
The governor also blamed insecurity on “evil people,” claiming that efforts by the government to stop them are met with opposition support that encourages them to continue. He suggested that these forces are being sponsored to mislead Nigerians into believing Tinubu is not performing well.
He further maintained that the election is “as good as won,” stressing that the ruling party and President Tinubu have the necessary instruments to secure victory. In his view, no candidate from the opposition is better than Tinubu to lead the country forward.
Okpebholo specifically pointed to Atiku, saying that even though Atiku did not become president, he served as vice president and was responsible for privatization matters. He used that reference to support his assertion that Atiku and other former leaders have not delivered effectively for the nation.
