Former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, has denied claims that he was invited by President Bola Tinubu or any member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to join the party.
Lamido, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said he was unaware of any such invitation and described the reports as mere speculation.
“When was I invited? I’m hearing this for the first time,” he said while speaking during the Eid al-Fitr celebration at his residence.
He also dismissed reports linking him to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), blaming misinformation circulating on social media.
Despite his denial, Lamido said he is open to meeting President Tinubu if the opportunity arises, noting that such engagement would be in the national interest, not for political alignment.
He further urged Nigerians to reflect on their voting decisions, saying leadership outcomes are a reflection of the choices made by citizens.
Lamido also congratulated Muslims on Eid al-Fitr and called for prayers for peace, unity, and stability in Nigeria.
