Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa on February 6, 2026, to discuss the safe return of 183 worshippers abducted from the Kurmin Wali community in the Kajuru Local Government Area.

Governor Sani shared details of the meeting via his X account, explaining that they focused on crucial issues including security, infrastructure, and development initiatives aimed at ensuring stability and prosperity in the state. He reported on the successful rescue of the victims, attributing it to meticulous, intelligence-driven operations conducted in partnership with both state and federal security agencies.

Sani expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his continuous support during the two weeks the worshippers were held captive, highlighting that the President’s outreach brought reassurance to the affected families and the wider community.

The discussion also included the review of significant developmental projects in Kaduna, notably the long-awaited Birnin Gwari road project, which Sani noted would improve security, stimulate economic activity, and reconnect isolated communities. The governor emphasized the urgent need to rehabilitate other critical road networks, such as the Kaduna Eastern Bypass and the Zaria–Pambegua–Saminaka road.

Governor Sani commended the dedication and sacrifices of the security personnel involved in the rescue operation and reiterated his administration’s commitment to collaborating with the Federal Government to enhance security and foster meaningful development in Kaduna State.
