Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), operating under Operation Hadin Kai, have successfully neutralized high-value terrorist targets in the North-East region, significantly disrupting insurgent activities.
In a press statement, Lt. Col. Sani Uba, the Media Information Officer of the Theatre Command, confirmed the killing of Julaibib, a key ISWAP commander, during an encounter in the Gujba axis of the Timbuktu Triangle on January 30, 2026. The operation took place near Kimba, in the Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State. Uba noted that Julaibib’s elimination caused disarray among ISWAP factions, leading to the reported neutralization of several fighters.
Troops, assisted by the Civilian Joint Task Force, executed a strategic ambush that resulted in the neutralization of three terrorists and the recovery of two AK-47 rifles. Additionally, on January 29, troops engaged with BH/ISWAP terrorists during an ambush in Gwoza Local Government Area, which resulted in the neutralization of one terrorist and the recovery of two motorcycles. On January 28, a patrol in Adamawa State rescued a woman abducted by terrorists and seized an assortment of weapons and ammunition.
These operations are part of ongoing efforts to incapacitate terrorist movements and bolster security in the region. The military emphasizes its commitment to maintaining stability and safety across the North-East.
