The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has reported that troops of Operation Safe Haven rejected a bribe of N13.7 million offered by terrorists during an operation along the Jos–Sanga Road in Plateau State. Major General Markus Kangye, Director of Defence Media Operations, disclosed this during a briefing on military operations in Abuja.

Kangye stated that the troops responded to a distress call regarding terrorist activities and intercepted two individuals attempting to bribe them. He highlighted that the troops conducted several offensive operations in various Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Plateau and Kaduna States, resulting in engagements with extremists, the killing of several suspects, and the arrest of 12 individuals.

Additionally, the troops rescued three kidnapping victims and seized weapons, ammunition, motorcycles, and vehicles during their operations. Kangye commended the troops for their professionalism and resilience, urging the public to cooperate with security agencies and remain vigilant against suspicious activities.

He reiterated the military’s commitment to intensifying operations to ensure the safety and security of the region.
