The 2027 political race is already heating up as a powerful APC bloc has thrown its full weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara for second terms—declaring their leadership a “non-negotiable path forward.”
At a high-stakes briefing in Abuja, the APC Forum for Good Governance and Continuity unveiled what it called an “evidence-based verdict” on both leaders’ performances—painting a picture of bold reforms, economic revival, and political resilience.
Leading the charge, National Coordinator Henry Awolabi praised Tinubu’s controversial but “historic” policies, including fuel subsidy removal and exchange rate unification, insisting they have rescued Nigeria from the brink of economic collapse.
According to the forum, the results are already showing: rising GDP growth, stronger foreign reserves, improved investor confidence, and a more stable naira—signs they say prove Nigeria is undergoing a major economic reset.
But it wasn’t just about the presidency.
Governor Fubara was hailed as a “steady hand in a storm,” credited with calming political tensions in Rivers State while pushing aggressive development in infrastructure, healthcare, and agriculture.
The group applauded his “restraint under pressure” and commitment to rebuilding the state, describing his leadership as both strategic and transformative.
In a bold declaration, the forum warned that abandoning the current leadership could derail Nigeria’s progress at a critical moment.
“Countries are not transformed by comfort—they are transformed by courage,” Awolabi said, stressing that continuity is key to sustaining reforms.
With this early endorsement, the APC Forum has effectively fired the first major shot ahead of 2027—sending a clear message that, for them, the Tinubu-Fubara ticket is already a done deal.
