Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has publicly articulated his reasons for backing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s policies and re-election campaign in 2027. This statement came during his meetings with the President at the Aso Villa.
Soludo, who is seeking re-election in November under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), expressed his unwavering support for Tinubu, whom he has known for over 20 years. Wearing a fez cap adorned with the President’s emblem, Soludo stated, “I don’t have any apologies about it. President Tinubu is my friend, and I support him wholeheartedly.”
He praised Tinubu’s decisive actions in economic and structural reforms, asserting, “We’re taking the right steps; we only need to stay the course.” Soludo emphasized the importance of collaboration among political parties to enhance Nigeria’s democracy and foster economic development.
On security issues, he noted that his administration has implemented a comprehensive strategy that combines both kinetic and non-kinetic measures to combat crime, including the recent Anambra State Homeland Security Law aimed at dismantling criminal networks.
Highlighting his administration’s achievements, Soludo mentioned the empowerment of 5,000 youths over the past year, with plans to provide financial support to an additional 8,700 in the near future. He stated, “We’re creating several thousand youth millionaires within the first three years.”
This mutual support between Soludo and Tinubu signals a strong alliance as both leaders prepare for the upcoming electoral battles.
