The Adamawa Government is all set to welcome President Bola Tinubu for a one-day official visit on Monday, as confirmed by Mr. James Iliya, the Commissioner for the Ministry of Information and Strategy. This visit is seen as a significant endorsement of the developmental achievements made under Governor Ahmadu Fintiri’s administration.
Iliya stated that Tinubu’s visit will coincide with the inauguration of several infrastructural projects initiated by the state government. Among the key projects to be inaugurated are a newly constructed underpass at the former Bekaji Roundabout, an expanded Bank Road in Yola, and a model school in Yola North Local Government Area. This model school is part of a larger initiative consisting of 21 newly built schools across the state.
Additionally, President Tinubu is expected to perform a groundbreaking ceremony for a new NYSC permanent orientation camp in Malkohi, commission an ultra-modern High Court Complex, unveil an automated gate at Government House, and inaugurate the recently constructed Governor’s Office complex. These projects cover crucial sectors such as education, infrastructure, governance, security, and healthcare.
Iliya called upon residents of Adamawa to behave lawfully and peacefully as they gather to welcome the president. He emphasized the importance of unity and hospitality, urging citizens, regardless of their political affiliations, to turn out in large numbers to demonstrate warmth.
In preparation for the visit, the Adamawa Police Command has deployed its resources across the state. Commissioner of Police Morris Dankombo announced that operational assets, including the Police Mobile Force and Counter Terrorism Unit, will be active after a strategic meeting with security leaders. These teams will conduct covert surveillance operations to ensure safety during the event.
