President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has submitted a list of three nominees for ambassadorial positions to the Senate for confirmation. Senate President Godswill Akpabio announced this during the plenary session on Wednesday, which was broadcasted on the National Assembly’s YouTube channel.
The nominated ambassadors are:
- Kayode Are from Ogun State
- Aminu Dalhatu from Jigawa State
- Ayodele Oke
Akpabio mentioned that this is the initial list and hinted that more nominations are expected in the future. This move comes after criticism regarding the delay in appointing ambassadors since Tinubu took office in 2023.
