President Bola Tinubu has expressed condolences to the military and families of six soldiers who lost their lives in a January 4 terrorist attack at the Nigerian Army base in Sabon Gida, Borno State.
In a statement from his Special Adviser, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu honored the bravery of the soldiers, stating their sacrifice “will forever be honoured and remembered.”
The President commended the Nigerian Armed Forces for their swift counterattack, highlighting successful air strikes that neutralized terrorists during their escape.
Acknowledging the military’s challenges, Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to combating terrorism and promised continued support. He stated, “Your sacrifices and dedication do not go unnoticed.”
He called for an investigation into the attack to prevent future incidents and urged the military to increase operations in the Northwest, where bandits threaten innocent lives.
Additionally, Tinubu appealed to all Nigerians to support the military’s efforts in restoring peace and stability, emphasizing the need for unity in this ongoing fight against threats to national security.
