President Bola Tinubu is currently in a private meeting with Nigeria’s top security officials at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. This meeting comes just before his trip to Rome for the inauguration mass of Pope Leo XIV, following an invitation from the Vatican.
Attendees include the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa; Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede; Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar; Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla; and Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.
While the details of the discussions remain confidential, it is anticipated that the security chiefs will update the president on their strategies to address the recent increase in insecurity across the nation.
