According to the statement, Dr. Mulisiu Olalekan Oseni has been appointed as Chairman of the commission. Oseni, who joined NERC as a commissioner in 2017 and later served as Vice Chairman, officially assumed the role on December 1, 2025. His appointment will run until the completion of his statutory 10-year tenure in line with the provisions of the Electricity Act, 2023.
Dr. Yusuf Ali was named Vice Chairman of the commission. Ali, who was first appointed as a commissioner in February 2022, also began his new role on December 1, 2025, and will serve for the remainder of his current term.
Other members of the reconstituted board include Nathan Rogers Shatti, Dafe Akpeneye, and Aisha Mahmud Kanti Bello, all of whom are serving second terms as commissioners. Shatti and Akpeneye were initially appointed in January 2017, while Bello joined the commission in December 2020.
Also retained on the board is Dr. Chidi Ike, who is serving his first term as commissioner after his appointment in February 2022. In addition, Dr. Fouad Animashaun has been appointed as a commissioner, with his tenure taking effect from December 2025.
