Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Baba, has publicly addressed the escalating tensions regarding his marriage to Natasha. He accused family members of exacerbating the situation under the guise of trying to “save” him.
The controversy intensified recently in the UK, where Natasha was reportedly involved in a heated argument that drew police attention, resulting in 2Baba’s brief arrest. The situation further escalated during an Instagram Live session with broadcaster Daddy Freeze, where 2Baba and Natasha had a candid exchange that alarmed viewers.
Viral clips from this incident have fueled speculation about deeper issues in their marriage, raising concerns for the singer’s emotional well-being. Observers noted messages from 2Baba’s brother, Hyacinth Idibia, suggesting family involvement in the ongoing crisis.
Breaking his silence, 2Baba took to social media to reject the narrative that he needed rescuing. He insisted that some family actions have actually caused more harm.
“This whole thing has gotten dangerously out of hand. I am not just going to be quiet anymore. I feel I have to say some facts here. I am a grown man and believe I have the right to be with whoever I want. My family, in the pretence of trying to save me, has actually destroyed me and killed someone’s daughter’s character. Natasha is getting death threats right now,” he stated in a viral video.
He acknowledged their quarrels but emphasized that conflicts are normal in any relationship: “Fine, we have had our quarrels, but who doesn’t quarrel with their spouses? This is getting out of hand. I’m perfectly okay. Everyone has seen me and I did my show recently in Abuja. How do you say you want to save me but you are messing the whole thing up?”
His statement has sparked fresh online debate, dividing fans between those urging the family to step back and those calling for increased intervention to ensure the safety and stability of everyone involved.
