Former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has emphasized the importance of the Continuous Voter Registration and Permanent Voter Card (PVC) collection, calling the PVC the most powerful tool for building a new Nigeria.

In a post on his official X handle, Obi described the PVC as “the voice of the voiceless, the shield of the weak, and the weapon of the poor against injustice and bad leadership.” He urged eligible voters to recognize their power and organize to prevent election rigging.

Obi warned against vote selling, stating that those who engage in such practices are merely facilitating corruption. He stressed that selling votes compromises the future of individuals and their families, denying them opportunities for quality education and healthcare.

He encouraged Nigerians to vote for leaders who exhibit competence, character, capacity, and compassion, urging them not to be intimidated during elections.

“The power to change this country is in your hands,” Obi stated, asserting that a “New Nigeria is possible” if citizens take responsibility for the change they desire.
