The All Progressives Congress (APC) has asserted that the South-West region will continue to support President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 general elections. This statement was made by APC spokesman Mr. Seye Oladejo in response to comments made by supporters of PDP presidential aspirant Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, who suggested that the South-West would not re-elect Tinubu.
Oladejo criticized Olawepo-Hashim, stating that he lacks a solid political foundation and the electoral capability to compete in a national election. “Tinubu will crush all those ganging up against his reelection in 2027,” he declared.
He described Olawepo-Hashim as a “perennial aspirant” and a “convenient mascot for opposition desperation,” arguing that endorsements from small rallies do not equate to actual votes. “In the unlikely event that he somehow emerges as the presidential candidate of the free-falling PDP, he will be roundly beaten at the poll,” Oladejo claimed.
He further dismissed Olawepo-Hashim’s criticisms of Tinubu’s administration as “distasteful,” asserting that the current government is making significant strides in areas such as infrastructure, education, agriculture, security, and fiscal reforms.
Oladejo emphasized that Nigerians will not be misled into trading present progress for past failures. “In 2027, voters will choose continuity with a president who has delivered direction and results—not the empty spectacle offered by political tourists,” he stated.
He concluded by reiterating that the South-West would not abandon its own for an unsubstantiated political agenda.
