A small multi-engine Beechcraft 55 aircraft crashed into traffic on Interstate 95 near Orlando while attempting an emergency landing due to reported engine trouble. The accident occurred late Monday night and involved a collision with a Toyota Camry, resulting in extensive damage to the vehicle.

The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the Camry, driven by a 57-year-old woman, was struck by the aircraft, leading to her being transported to Viera Hospital with minor injuries—an outcome deemed fortunate given the severity of the crash.

Despite the dramatic nature of the incident, both the 27-year-old pilot and a passenger escaped without injuries and declined medical transport. The crash caused significant traffic delays as emergency crews worked to clear the wreckage, which was scattered across multiple lanes of the highway.

While the exact cause of the crash has not been disclosed, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will conduct an investigation to determine what led to the emergency landing. This incident marks the second aviation emergency in Central Florida that day, with another small aircraft making an unexpected landing earlier in DeLand, resulting in injuries to two individuals.
