The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced a new date for its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, which is now set for May 15, 2025. This decision comes after the party’s National Secretary, Sunday Udeh-Okoye, issued a notice on Sunday explaining that the postponement from the original date of March 13 allows for the completion of pending zonal, state, local government, and ward congresses.
The NEC meeting has faced several delays, initially scheduled for August 15, 2024, and subsequently moved multiple times, including dates in October, November, and February. Udeh-Okoye stated that the change was made following extensive consultations with party leaders, stakeholders, and relevant organs, including the Board of Trustees, the PDP Governors’ Forum, and the National Assembly Caucus.
He expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by this rescheduling, urging all NEC members to take note of the new date.
