Elder statesman and leader of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, has passed away at the age of 97. His family confirmed his death in a statement released on Tuesday.
The statement, signed by Prof. C. C. Clark, read: “The Clark-Fuludu Bekederemo family of Kiagbodo Town, Delta State, wishes to announce the passing of Chief (Dr.) Sen. Clark, a former Federal Commissioner for Information and a prominent voice in the South-South region, was a key figure in Nigeria’s political landscape. Known for his advocacy for resource control, regional development, and the rights of the Niger Delta people, he remained an influential statesman throughout his life.
