Rescuers in Argentina are currently searching for three individuals missing following devastating floods that have claimed one life and forced nearly 2,000 people to evacuate their homes. The heavy rains have heavily impacted the capital, Buenos Aires, and surrounding provinces, causing significant disruption.
Fabian Garcia, director of Civil Defence for Buenos Aires province, confirmed during a radio interview that one missing man had been found dead, while three others remain unaccounted for. Approximately 1,945 people have sought shelter in evacuation centers, with many others fleeing to stay with relatives.
The intense storm that struck lasted until early Sunday, dumping five times the average May rainfall in the region, according to Cindy Fernandez from the National Meteorological Service. In response, both national and provincial governments have initiated emergency operations to deliver rescue vehicles, food, water, and blankets to those affected by the floods.
