The Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended Senator Gbenga Daniel, representing the Ogun East Senatorial District, alongside Hon. Kunle Folarin, due to alleged anti-party activities. The decision was announced in a statement by the party’s Publicity Director, Nuberu Olufemi.

The suspension was decided during an APC meeting on August 19, 2025, chaired by state chairman Chief Yemi Sanusi. Nuberu indicated that the meeting involved 16 members who reviewed reports from the Disciplinary Committees of the party’s Sagamu Wards 4 and 6. These committees had investigated allegations against Daniel and Folarin, which they upheld.

Both Daniel and Folarin reportedly failed to appear before the committees to defend themselves, leading to the decisions made against them. Nuberu affirmed that the suspension followed due process, emphasizing the APC’s commitment to discipline within the party.

While the suspension is pending further review, Daniel’s media aide, Steve Oliyide, stated that the senator has not received official notification regarding his suspension or the allegations against him.
