The Edo State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested 19-year-old social media influencer Praise Nwogu, known online as Candy, for promoting and selling cannabis-laden cookies. The arrest occurred on November 22, alongside another suspect, 25-year-old Ebong Oghosa.

NDLEA State Commander Mitchell Ofoyeju reported that the arrests followed extensive surveillance and intelligence-gathering efforts targeting an online drug ring. Nwogu was found in possession of 12 plates and one cup of cannabis-infused brownies, while Oghosa, believed to be the production expert, had 76 grams of cannabis sativa and 1.5 grams of a potent cannabis form known as Colorado.

Ofoyeju emphasized the agency’s commitment to combating drug-related offenses and warned those involved in online drug trafficking that they would face legal consequences. The investigation is ongoing, and the suspects are expected to be charged in court soon.
