The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has carried out a series of targeted airstrikes, eliminating terrorists and dismantling their fortified enclaves in Borno and Katsina states. The precision air operations, conducted between March 17 and March 19, disrupted insurgent activities in key locations, including Chiralia, Grazah, Yuwe, and Zango Hill.

Group Captain Kabiru Ali, Deputy Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF, confirmed the development in a statement released in Abuja. He noted that the strikes, part of ongoing counterterrorism efforts, effectively crippled terrorist networks operating in the Northeast and Northwest regions.

According to intelligence reports, insurgents based in Chiralia had been orchestrating attacks along major highways, abducting civilians and looting supplies. In response, NAF deployed a formidable strike force, launching devastating assaults that obliterated enemy hideouts and neutralized several fighters attempting to flee.

Further operations targeted Grazah in the Mandara Mountains and Yuwe in the Sambisa Forest—both notorious strongholds for extremist groups. At Grazah, intelligence indicated that key terrorist leaders were actively recruiting and indoctrinating new fighters, prompting a swift and lethal air raid. The offensive continued with follow-up strikes to ensure the complete destruction of enemy structures and assets.

In the Northwest, NAF collaborated with ground troops to execute aerial assaults in Zango Hill, Katsina. Surveillance missions had identified a significant concentration of armed bandits in the area, leading to precise bombardments that destroyed their hideouts and scattered their forces.

Officials say these latest airstrikes have significantly weakened terrorist operations, disrupting their supply chains and command structures. Intelligence assessments indicate that several high-profile targets were eliminated, along with critical infrastructure used for logistics and coordination.

The Nigerian military remains committed to intensifying its counterterrorism efforts, aiming to restore security and stability in the affected regions.
