Political allies of former Jigawa State Governor Alhaji Sule Lamido are urging him to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) due to what they perceive as a loss of focus and vitality within the party. This call for departure was made during a meeting of the “Former PDP Jigawa State Local Government Chairmen Forum” at the party’s secretariat in Dutse.

The group’s statement follows Alhaji Atiku Abubakar’s recent exit from the PDP to join the African Democratic Congress. They expressed concerns about the internal conflicts and declining ideological principles of the PDP, condemning the disrespect shown to Lamido during his visit to purchase a nomination form for the national chairmanship position.

The loyalists described the current national leadership as ineffective and criticized a recent controversy  at the party’s Wadata Plaza headquarters as an embarrassment. They insist that Lamido, as a respected founding father of the party, deserves better treatment and should consider moving to a party that can better support his and others’ aspirations for Nigeria’s future.
