The Lagos State Government has revealed that road rehabilitation on the Lekki-Ajah corridor will commence on Saturday, November 15, 2025, and continue until Wednesday, July 15, 2026. The project aims to enhance road quality and improve traffic flow on this busy route.
Transportation Commissioner Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi stated that the rehabilitation will occur in two phases to minimize disruption for commuters. During Phase 1, one lane will be closed while work is conducted on sections from Lekki 1st Toll Gate to Lekki 2nd Toll Gate. Motorists will still have access through the remaining lane.
Phase 2 will involve repairs from Lekki 2nd Toll Gate to the Ajah Under-Bridge, where traffic diversions will be implemented to maintain movement.
The government has appealed for patience from residents and road users, emphasizing that the temporary inconvenience will lead to long-term benefits. Osiyemi reaffirmed the state’s commitment to sustainable mobility and infrastructural renewal, urging commuters to plan their journeys and obey traffic management personnel during the project.
