Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has directed the revocation of all illegal allocations and encroachments on the land of Northwest University, Kano, during a visit from the institution’s first female Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Amina Bayero.
Yusuf emphasized the importance of protecting the university’s land holdings, instructing the Commissioner for Land and Physical Planning to assess the situation and eliminate any illegal transactions made under previous administrations. He stated, “Any illegal allocation on its land will be revoked without hesitation.”
Additionally, the governor mandated that all outstanding academic allowances owed to the university’s staff be paid by the end of December. Yusuf commended the university’s Governing Council for a rigorous and transparent selection process in appointing Bayero, highlighting her pivotal role as a pioneer academic staff member.
Prof. Bayero expressed gratitude for her appointment and shared her commitment to enhancing academic standards and the overall growth of the university through her 14-point agenda.
