The Peoples Democratic Party has reversed its earlier decision regarding Senator Samuel Anyanwu and postponed its planned National Executive Committee meeting set for June 30, following discussions with the Independent National Electoral Commission.

During a press conference at the PDP national secretariat in Abuja, the party’s Acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, described the decision as challenging but broadly supported among key stakeholders. Joined by Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, and other party members, Damagum announced that Anyanwu will be reinstated into the National Working Committee.

He stated, “Senator Samuel Anyanwu has been reinstated in the NWC. This was a difficult decision, but it received acceptance from many party members.”

Damagum also indicated that an expanded Caucus meeting would take place instead of the scheduled NEC meeting. He emphasized that Anyanwu would resume his role as National Secretary, highlighting the significance of this decision. He noted that the June 30 gathering will focus on the expanded Caucus, rather than the original NEC agenda.

Further details are expected to follow.
