Jigawa Governor mourns son just hours after mother’s death

In a heartbreaking turn of events, Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State has lost his eldest son, Abdulwahab Umar Namadi, less than 30 hours after the passing of his mother. Abdulwahab died in a tragic car accident on Thursday, December 26, 2024.

The accident occurred around 3 PM in Agura village, located less than three kilometers from Kafin Hausa, the governor’s hometown. Abdulwahab and a friend were traveling from Dutse, the state capital, to Kafin Hausa to receive condolences for the recent death of his grandmother, Hajiya Maryam Namadi.

The chief press secretary to the governor, Comrade Muhammad Hamisu Gumel, confirmed the incident in a press release, stating: “To Allah belongs that which He has taken, and to Him belongs that which He has given, and everything has an appointed time with Him.”

With profound sorrow and acceptance of Allah’s will, Governor Umar Namadi announced the death of his beloved son, Abdulwahab, who was only 24 years old. He is survived by his parents, brothers, and sisters.
