President Bola Tinubu held a closed-door meeting with the Service Chiefs at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Monday evening. This marked Tinubu’s first engagement with the military high command since the swearing-in of General Christopher Musa as the new Minister of Defence on December 4, 2025. Although the official agenda was not disclosed, the meeting comes amid growing security concerns, including the ongoing captivity of 115 students kidnapped from a Catholic boarding school in November and the Senate’s recent approval for troop deployment to Benin Republic following an attempted coup.
During this period, the Nigerian Air Force conducted precision air operations at Dabar Masara, a known terrorist site in Borno State, targeting a workshop and logistics hub. Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame confirmed that these operations resulted in the destruction of vehicles and neutralization of terrorist elements.
Additionally, troops from the Joint Task Force Operation Enduring Peace conducted multiple operations in Kaduna and Plateau states between December 11 and 13, leading to the neutralization of several kidnappers and the rescue of multiple abducted victims. The military’s sustained pressure on criminal elements aims to enhance security and ensure the safety of citizens across the regions.
