Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, has confirmed his intention to run for the presidency again in 2027, assuring his supporters that he is committed to serving one term if elected.

Obi stated, “I have not joined in any form of discussion on joint tickets including with Atiku. If there is an agreement that restricts me to four years in office, I will comply.”

In a recent appearance on X space, he emphasized the need for coalition talks to address Nigeria’s pressing issues, including security and economic revival. He urged Nigerians to support his vision, stating, “I will bring stability in Nigeria within two years in office.”

On the Labour Party’s situation, Obi mentioned efforts to secure endorsement from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) following a Supreme Court ruling.

He reiterated his belief in the rotation of the presidency between the North and South, highlighting his previous implementation of this principle during his governorship in Anambra.

Obi critiqued President Bola Tinubu’s foreign trips, questioning his commitment to domestic issues, and outlined his plans for a non-violent approach in the upcoming election, prioritizing security, education, and poverty eradication.

He concluded by emphasizing the importance of governance and the need for leaders to be present and engaged in addressing national crises.
